Progress Bars for Challenges

It would be nice for the challenges to have progress bars. It is more exciting for someone to give to a challenge if they know we are ALMOST there. Our team is going to have to track this manually and then update the description to say (25% of the way there). That seems wild considering this is a crowdfunding platform....

Hi Kathryn Ethridge Henderson I wanted to know if the Campaign Hubs have now solved this issue for you? Sydney Sullivan and Calvin Chuang please feel free to add your thoughts too.
Brandon Michael Sweeney Is the matching gift functionality working out for your use case?
Kathryn Ethridge Henderson
Pragya Sharma sort of. For a traditional dollar for dollar challenge it was great. But The donor count by affiliation only partly worked. We have a lot of alum alum couples and they only counted once towards the goal progress. To work around that I had to make fake $1 gifts on the backend to ensure the donor count went up by 2 every time an alum couple made a gift.
Also I’d love to see an x amount is unlocked when x amount is raised option instead of just dollar for dollar. Having both makes it a little more interesting and we get bigger gifts when someone feels like we got the match unless the full total is raised

Pragya Sharma No they have not. I would like the ability to select the funds I want to see and also determine the time frame for the live charts I create as well as the group of people being compared. Similar to what we have here: llusmaa.org/all-in
For example:
1) A bar chart showing what to total dollars each class has donated toward their "Class Funds" and "Student Funds" between January 1 and December 1, 2025.
2) A bar chart showing the count how many individuals from each class have donated to ALL the fund minus "Operating Funds" between June 30, 2025 to now.
3) A bar chart comparing the count of how many dollars each people collectively from the same undergraduate college have give, to ALL funds minus "operating funds" and "class" funds for 2026.
Does that make sense?

I would also like to see competition bars that can be sorted by categories we choose display (Examples: by class, undergraduate school, profession/specialty etc.) Right now we are doing this manually for classes for our current fundraising campaign see: llusmaa.org/all-in

Am I the only one that struggles with the concept of how matching gift tracking should work???
Our giving strategy is that we have custom giving pages for each area of our University.
For example we have unit level pages (School of Business, College of Arts and Sciences, Athletics, etc.), we also have departmental pages (Within College of arts and Sciences dept. of chemistry, dept of mass comm, etc.), we also have pages for student organizations, pages for special initiatives. These all have their own pages.
However twice a year we have giving days (Giving Tuesday- fall & ONE DAY ONE SIUE-April). For these I build a competitive giving page and create Campaign Hub Tiles for each area and we do highlight matching gift challenge opportunities.
We struggle to get donors to give on the specific giving day page rather than the individual giving pages. This makes tracking a nightmare.
Just wondering if any one else deals with something similar as it is frustrating.

This would be so helpful for us as well. It makes the challenges more exciting to see the progress.

Great to hear your perspective, Kathryn Ethridge Henderson! I have a few more questions for you:
- What specific information would you like to see displayed on the progress bar?
- How frequently should the progress bar update to reflect new contributions?
- Are there any specific challenges or events where you think progress bars would be most beneficial?

Sahil Mallick 1. Having either donor numbers or donations, to be able to choose between what you want the bar to show depending on the challenge. 2. Every time a person makes a gift to that challenge page. 3. For competitive giving pages where you can create challenges. Especially for donor number challenges and matching gift challenges. Ex: https://alumni.semesteratsea.org/g/giving-tuesday if you scroll to the challenges bar, it would be great if it had progress bars.

Sahil Mallick when I manually updated it, I did it about every 10 minutes but I was having to manually track gifts in excel and use a formula to track challenge progress. Instantaneous updates would great as alumni are constantly refreshing to check. I noticed anytime I manually updated the challenge name to include how far along we were to unlocking the challenge that we got a flurry of gifts, particularly as we got close to completing a challenge.
Dollars raised towards a particular area or number of donors are the challenges we focused on.
