Default Affiliation should be Alumni

When users try to sign up for an event, the default affiliation should be 'Alumni' instead of 'Staff' (please see the below screenshot).
Moreover in the below screenshot, there is no dropdown option next to staff. This is confusing and makes some users think that Staff is the only option. Can we indicate that this is a dropdown field?

This is VERY important because the audience we are talking to is Alumni... not Staff!! Most of the people registering for our events are alumni. The default is confusing them as well as with no drop down arrow the alumni do not know they need to change it which is causing it to come into our RE database wrong. Please address and fix as soon as possible. Thanks.... Anne
