Like many universities, there is a long history of changing class codes, making it rather difficult to keep an up-to-date list of who graduated from which department. Our team keeps our Raisers Edge queries up to date so we can pull those lists, but there isn't a good way to pull the results of that query into Almabase to work with other lists. There are currently 2 options for us. First is to create the list and pull it into AB as a static list. But this is list isn't able to be excluded or added to any of the AB dynamic lists. The second is to pull up the RE query for reference, and manually add each major code as a filter in the AB data studio. This would need to be done each time an email is sent to a group to ensure that we have all the correct major codes.

It would be helpful to have better options for situations like this. Maybe it would be the ability to access RE queries in Almabase, pull RE lists as dynamic lists based on the filters set in RE, or the ability to create a dynamic list in AB and add/exclude a static RE list.

Right now, it's easier to just send any emails that need to be sorted by academic area in RE directly instead of using AB. But there are a number of reasons we would rather do all of our emails in AB (with the dynamic lists being a big one).
