Ability to make phone number optional on event registration

Make phone number capture optional (either within the form for the attendee, or as a toggle-able field when creating registration). We have many events where we don't need phone from registrants and requiring it could deter guests from signing up.

Phone number is an optional field when guests signup for the waitlist for an event, please extend this functionality to the regular registration!

We also would like to make the phone number capture optional as there are many events where this isn't necessary for the registrants, either. Thank you so much for considering making this not a mandatory question!

I think whether or not you need to capture the phone number or the address should be determined by the event planner. It should be a choice just like whether or not the alum has to log in or not to register...the planner chooses that. The planner should be able to choose if phone number or address is required to register. Reasoning: we may want to capture address and phone at a reunion for example, but if the same segment is being invited to another event just a month later, we don't want to have to ask them to enter that data again. It is a deterrent.
