We need to be able to pull a report that includes all payments (tickets, gifts, etc). In addition to the columns already included in the gift report, we need a column stating the fund description.

Today transactions for events are put on separate tabs. It is hard to use these exports for reconciliation if it is not being done event wise. Having all transactions in a single sheet would make it easier to do an overall reconciliation.

We actually have introduced two new exports that allows you access to all the data(including tickets, gifts) in one place along with fund name and fund ID if your request is related to Event Exports. Else you can help me understand your requirement better.
